BIO:
Born in Brooklyn, after earning a Master's in Painting from Queens College, I moved to the Hudson Valley in the late 1970's to paint from landscape. Painting directly from Life provides opportunities to observe, to coordinate hand and eye and to gather information. I continued painting and for many years, taught Art. From the early 1990's, I lived overseas. Returning to the US in 2007, I came back to make my home in the Hudson Valley. I frequently exhibit.
ARTIST STATEMENT: Nature has always been central to Pam Krimsky’s work. Whereas she began by looking to the Old Masters, particularly Rembrandt, Van Gogh, and Delacroix, now, she pays close attention to the work of her contemporaries for direction. She names her strengths as Drawing, Color and Composition. Her usual media are oil or acrylic, is delving into various methods of printmaking, experimenting with watercolor, and occasionally, Pam creates bas-reliefs with clay.
She is a member of The National Association of Women Artists, Arts Mid- Hudson,WAAM, and other regional and National Arts organizations.
